TRANNY FLUID IS THE RED STUFF AND FOR YOU TO SEE THE LEAK YOU WOULD HAVE TO PRESSURIZE THE SYSTEM.

you still have auto tranny? cuz if so, then after replacing the rad, also flush and refull your tranny fluid, cuz if coolant and tranny fluid mix, then you have a problem.

yeah cars still auto hopefully not for long though. So after i replace the rad I should have a shop flush the system or can I do it myself?

How hard is it to replace your own tranny fluid and coolant?

Never done tranny but the collant is a piece of cake. If you don't own a Hayes manual or something of that sort go out and buy one. This is the perfect time and would answer most of your questions.

yeah i have a haynes manual, its kinda vague though. Do i fill up the rad or the reservoir?

As for the tranny fluid it says i have to drain it and then fill it up via the dip stick hole?

fill it up as full as yu can and fill the resivoir to the line... run the engine some and then top it off again
there will be a little air that comes out and it will take some space prolly just from the resivoir tho

jesus christ

take your care to a shop, stop screwing around, if you don't have a clue take it to someone who knows 100% and is competent with their work...

if you are asking if you can drive without rad fluid please take it to a shop

and trying to milk the damages so you can get more is stupid and i hope they refuse your claim

getting what is owed to you is diff, although not trying to avoid a rock and running right over it is a hard one...

WoW, have a bad day or something man?

I would take my car to a shop but i dont have money to pay for a tow Truck and right now i would rather replace the rad myself and hopefully have it running right so i can get the rad support pulled.

If your car was damaged and you had to go through all this bull**** to get your car fixed I think you would want to get something more. In reality I just want my car fixed and maybe there will be money left over aswell.

If i coulda avoided the rock I would have, i bet if i was in the hospital because i got nailed by a TTC bus you wouldnt be acting like such a jerk.

no actually if it was something like small i would just want my car fixed and woulnd't try and milk it for more than its worth like a stupid frotn end conversion....and we wonder why people are corrupt these days and take advantage of situations...

you have enough money to get a paint job, lower, shaved sides, audio system and all the shibang, yet a $80 tow and couple hundred at a shop... even an affiliate who would give you a great deal... yet you can't afford that

it urks me

Well lets see, its gonna cost $500 to pull the rad support properly or $1500 to properly replace it and make sure the front end is straight. The radiator needs to be replaced so figure $150 for a used honda one or $500 for a brand new one. The dent in my floorboards although i dont think it will affect the car much somehow needs to be fixed jsut so i know its fixed.

Yeah i had my car painted and it has coilovers and a sound system, that was all paid for awhile ago. I get paid once a month at the end of the month. You assume i have all this money when in really i dont.

The idea of the EL front was just something to think about, not even really consider. I have filed my claim with the city and i will be waiting for them to reply to it. I dont expect to make money off of this collision, it was a joke but i guess people like to read too much into what people post on a forum.

do you have to remove your a/c to put in a dual core? I have heard people use the teg dual cores on civics but they look like there twice as wide as a stock civic one?

As far as the rad support i dunno how easy it will be to find one in a junk yard and even if i find one i would need to somehow drill out the spot welds and hope it is straight aswell.

Is there anyway i can test the water pump out to see if thats whats making the howling noise? Basically i wanted to fill up like a bucket with water and maybe some coolant and put in the in and out tubes from the rad and see if the noise stops. In the haynes manual it says u can run straight water through the system to flush it but you should remove the thermostat first.

no the del sol dual core rad is OEM size

its just thicker thats all so it bolts in 100%

you thinking of the double wide teg rads, then yes if you dont have AC you can use them but if you have ac you will have the ac fan and heat exchange unit on the right and can't put one in

what rad support are you talking about? the whole big bar across tyhe front or the 2 small cups at the bottom that hold the rad in place and the bracket at the top?

has your car not overheated yet? did the needle go into the red section?

if your running not coolant it should have toasted your head gasket by now and if you were overheating your CEL light should come on

ah so the del sol is just double thickness, thanks for the info.

The big Bar across the front was hit pretty much dead center which im guessing punctured the rad because all the rad fluid leaked out. It pushed the upper frame part that has the hood latch and such on up and now the hood sits about half an inch maybe more than it should. pretty much when it happened i shut the car off immediately, checked to see what damage was done and i drove the car home very slowly. I was only like 2 minutes away from my house and i didnt notice the engine temp gauge go up super high so i think the engine is fine.

I ran it for like 15 seconds yesterday to let Jay hear what the sound was that the engien was making but thats about it. No CEL or overheating.
