EK Hatch Vs. 2002 BMW 325i

Alright,
What r my chances vs. a BMW 325i?

My buddy keeps telling me how fast his Beamer is and how he is going to smoke me! His car is all stock.

325i specs:
Auto.
3300 lbs.
183 hp and 170 torque.
around 100,000km

I have a Manual 5 speed EK hatch. stock engine with about 160,000km. h&r with tokico hps. straight pipe with rear axleback. K&N air filter. 15" with super sticky tires. strut and sway bar.

I think it's gonna be close because the dynamics of my car are better, such as the lower suspensoin and performance tires giving me better traction. Also, the EK is super light. However, like you c, the 325 has 183hp and 170lbs of torque!

So i dunno, what you guys think?

Also, any suggestions to speed up my car? Doesn't mean producing more HP but just something that makes my car quicker, such as lower car.

you're car wont have the same effect as an F1 car when it's lowered. it just lowers the centre of gravity which helps you in the handling category rather than speed. and now you won't win, he'll beat you.

Your dynamics? You're driving an underpowered front wheel drive car and he's driving a v6 rear wheel drive car. Your dynamics are **** compared to his. If you had more power you could maybe catch up after he takes off on you from the line.

I gotta give one of these

Are you talking in a straightline or around a twisty course like SOLO2?

I'm guessing by the nature and maturity level of your post you mean a straight line.

I dunno where you got your lesson in automotive dynamics, but you should get your money back, lowering your car does not make it faster. You're super sticky tires will probably slow you down more than they will help speed you up in a straight line.

no intention to hate, btw

No word of Stree Racing is mentioned, yet, by the thread starter. Let's not jump the gun.

Man just don't put your money on it ... You'll lose, unless he hits a stray rabbit half way through.... (Even still I'm sure a hubcap would fly off and still finish you off down the line)

I know I know, but I was reading his post waiting to hear about his swap and there it was, stock engine, I had to read it twice.

Still, your comment was funny! Made me spit out my pop!

Yeah, that's what i thought at first, i was like ok 183hp yeah you'll smoke me.

But then after being in the 325i, the 183hp doesnt seem like 183hp its so slow. The auto tranny takes forever to shift from 1st-2nd-3rd gear. It drives like my van. So heavy too. He floored it at hwy7 and the suspension was bouncing all over the place. And i thought bmw's have amzing suspension.

I dunno, well the upgraded lowered suspension does make ur car a lil quicker. So ur cars not bounce all over the place when u go like 100km+.

I don't think ill beat him but i know for sure he won't smoke me. like meaning 1-2 cars length. 325s arent that fast. Neither r civics.

BTW, he's got 18s with low pros. So that won't help them either. And yeah its street. Usually we do 2 streetlights on Hwy7, there's a place with no cops, well at least not yet lol.
