drifting question

Well not all of us own Mustangs.. Hence being part of TCC lol.. But Travis does have some point. The other day we were out "Controlled skidding" through a parking lot and we had about 5 people out their with us. Well one joker tried to be cool and insted of e-braking he decided to use the brakes.. Well he locked them up and sent him right into a snow bank.. Was all fun and games till the cops showed up.. We kinda just made our way out of their and came back later to find the cops didn't help them at all.. Took around 10 of us the get the car out finally. But it's all in good fun.. I know with my car I'm running all seasons on the front and winters on the back.. Yeah Yeah laugh it up but the wether here is wacky.. Anyway I know it takes a slight kick of the ebrake to get it going.. Since the front of the car is so heavy with nothing in the back turning the wheel at high speeds gets nothing more then a slide out of it.. I watched a lad in a VW jetta yesterday trying to pull some off with out the ebrake, just trying to over steer.. Yeah he looked like a moron.. haha anyway that's my 2 cents for the day..

I'm not sure as to why it's refered to as a fine Japanese art, sure some of the best come from Japan. But their is no proof that they INVENTED it. They only started it because Japan is to small to build any large scale race tracks, other then F1 and Super bike.. I think correct me please if I am wrong... Drifting has been around for a long time in one way or another. They just turned it into a sport. As I recall the americans did up a new GTO and stuck it into a drifting comp. and it did rather well. And how can taking a Mustang through controlled skids "drifting" be lame. Not everyone is into RX-7's.. 300zx's or Tureno's... Just about any rear wheel car can be turned into a drifter.. and just about anyone can drift.. BUT in my opinion if you wanna build a sick drifter the '86 Tureno is by far my fave!!
