dohc zc??

I have a 88 civic dx and i'm going to swap in a dohc zc motor from a performance shop that gave me a quote of $1100 for a complete motor plus installation. Just wanted to know if that sounds like the right price for all that because to me it sounds a little cheap... thanx.

1100bucks! that sounds pricey to me, but I guess cuz its a dx it requires more ****...who knows...I can get a b16a swap for 1800 installed, so 1100 for a direct bolt in sounds pricey to me

you can get a dohc zc for $600...buy a used SI tranny for like $100...get it installed...and the dpfi > mpfi is only a little wiring when you actually have a whole mpfi motor.

ps who can you get a b16a for $1800 installed from? or is it someone that hooks you up? Most places I've called want like $1000 or more just for the motor + tranny + shift linkage + axles + installation

that price is good if the installation is included.

remember if you have a STD model you need hubs & axles. so it would be more...

Em1, how do you figure, motor & tranny is about $700.00

plus you need to get it all installed and swap over to mpfi, remember, re-and-re takes time, it cost me $600.00 to replace a headgasket & for parts...damn if i would have known at the time.

you only need axles if you use the ZC transmission
therefore you need integra axles and the ZC intermediate shaft..

otherwise CX/DX/SI axles all fit into the SI/DX/CX tranny and they all bolt to the ZC, remember a zc is still a dseries..

if you have a STD model 4spd you need to change the knuckles & axles because they are different # of spline count

you could always just change the axle hubs, but I think they wouldnt hold that power.
