the car runs really strong, except for an intermittent idle problem... occasonally the idle drops off during a downshift, basically when you let off the throttle quickly to an idle...sometimes it stalls
We cleaned the iacv out really well, and played with the idle adjustment on the map sensor? or egr? forget which it is called...the one on the throttle body... so that worke amazing for about a day then it started doing it again...
Other than that it sounds great, runs great... was just worried it might do dmagae over time if its alittle on the lean side...
I keep thinking a vacum leak possability...gonna have to test the vac system i guess...
all filters and fuel system (except injectors) are brand new.

Why did you touch the idls speed? Was it idling too high? Also, when you remove vacuum items off the engine, it's a good idea to replace the gasket. Could cause vacuum leak. Your picture shows the ground electrode as being white also. Is that right? If so, that is not normal. That is a sure sign of running lean. You're correct in thinking the plug should be tan in colour. If you get lucky, you might here a small whistle. Check for cracked/loose vacuum lines.

k , yah the idle was high then dropping off...sparatic...no gaskets have been touched...were checking vaumme tonight... i also hope we hear a whistle... otherwise its a needle in a hay stack...how else can u detect the location of a leake?

Run the vehicle, and spray any possible leak area with combustion chamber cleaner or water and listen for a change in idle. DO NOT use brakleen, or anything like that. By spray, I mean with a spray bottle, not a garden hose. The idle rising and dropping sounds just like a vacuum leak condition. Check the intake gasket area, the iac area (did you remove previously?), and the tb area. Did you remove any injectors? (torn O-ring?) Is the regulator vacuum signal hose off? Good luck
