Do Sways Bar Make a Difference?

Just wondering if they make a significant difference?

Lets say 27mm up front and 22mm in the rear.

Any input would be greaty appreciated.

Thanks,
Freddy

Sways are great. Though be careful with big rear sway bars. They can make the car a little tail happy.

Just something to keep in mind.

i use 26 front, 22 rear.

sways are great when you've done nice stiff linear springs and good shocks. next step after is sways. sways really give the car a great level attitude through a turn, and allow you to dial in how much over or understeer you want.

I had a 22 mm rear and nothing in the front, and putting the front one on made one hell of a difference in the car's cornering and weight transfer.

if going for an oversize bar, you might as well get a reinforcement piece for the sub-frame as well. i know someone whose EK9 22mm bar tore through his 99 hatch's subframe..lol

there is no such thing as upper and lower swaybars. you are talking about strut tower bars and lower tie bars.

Forget "oh they work if you have mad expensive suspension blah blah"

It WILL make a difference on stock suspension also.

Tego, the Progress rear sway bar is a very popular upgrade on the new Civic's like mine. I would imagine a similar bar on an RSX would yield similar results.

I'm sure you could also replace your bar with a Type-S (if it's bigger) or a DC5R bar.

I got a generic $45 strut bar in the front form pmall, I believe it made a good enough difference to get my moneys worth, I did a test on the on ramp to the highway, I could max out without like not feeling like my car was gonna roll at like 55 kmh, and after i added it i could go about 60 or so, which is alot faster when going at a slick turn like that.
