I've been a mechanic for 20 years.Squeling after a brake job is not normal especialy if they replaced pads and rotors. Any time it has happened to me, a recheck usally reveals a mistake on my part,or sometimes you can get a bad rotor (small defect in surface finish)in which case i'll replace the defective part, problem solved.............Not to sound like a jerk, but i do have a problem with guys doing there own brakes if they don't have the exprience. After a couple of attemps with supervision and most people will be good to go. There is alot more to a proper brake job then just sticking on new parts. oh yeah I agree a brake fliud flush is still a good idea.........Brakes are one of the most important things on your car and you don't want to find out you did the wrong thing after you wrapped the front end of perfectly good civic around something........lol

The squeeling is coming from the back. And all he did was replace the rear shoes. Should i still ask that it be re-checked?

if the squeeling only started after the brake job then yes they should recheck their work.If the squeeling was there before the brake job then it becomes more difficult to say what is wrong with out seeing the car.I would check the condition of the brake drum surface, and the condition of the brake springs(they should have been replaced with the shoes)replace them if they did not. BUT as I mentioned before get help from someone with experience to avoid any problems.if you can't get help buy a manual for your car.... GOOD LUCK
