ok well would the Civic DOHC VTEC $232.54 fit the B16a.. and would i "lose" power since the collectors is only 2" rather than 2 1/4" and do you kno if he can put two O2 sensors in the headers?

and would it be worth an extra 70$ for ceramics?

Well let's see how this affects you:

2.25" piping
----------
cross sectional area = pi * r^2 where r = 2.25/2 = pi * (1.125^2) = 3.976 Sq. In

2.00" piping
-----------
cross sectional area = pi * r^2 where r = 2.0/2 = pi * 1^2 = 3.1415 Sq. In

Ratio of old to new
------------------

3.1415 / 3.976 * 100 = 79%

The 2" piping is about 20% narrower than the 2.25" piping. Now whether the b16 can come close to filling the system, that's a different story. In my opinion, it does not matter much.

The design of the header (use of vacuum generated by varying pressure from one tube to the next during exhaust strokes) will probably make you more power than the extra diameter ever did. Plus a little backpressure might help you with low end torque anyway. Verdict: I wouldn't think twice about the 1/4" loss.

Ceramic is inferior to this material

Your muffler shop (:thumbup: JPG Exhaust) will re-route your O2 sensor to the desired position and will do a fine job wiring it too! (twisty ties and all)

awsome.. would you say to go with 2" all the way through then cuz these are torqueless beasts :) or would it be best to get these headers and have a 2 1/4" exhaust.. the only thing is ..it is a long drive to pick it up

Well I would say what works best for you at the cheapest price. ie: don't discard any components just because they are not all the same diameter. As long as you don't go below 2" you're okay.

**** JPG...like honestly they have ruined 3 of my friends cars (setting stuff on fire) and not owing up to it and/or trying to cover it up...I dont reccommend anybody to them!

I myself went to master performance exhaust in brampton for my crx 4 years ago and a complete custom system cost me 500 (2.25" pipes from headers back, stainless muffler and tip)

they did my civc exhaust b4 and did a good job. plus they (i think) are the best in the area.. i'm going to have to tow my car there so its the closest as well... but damn that is a good price.. it wll be too expensive to tow it anywhere else and not worth it.... how the hell did they set **** on fire in the first place?

they were welding extra hangers on the car near the trunk area and it got mad hot and set the trunk interior on fire and they didnt even tell my friend after they put out the fire...and when he found out about it later that day they denied it on all counts untill our shop called them and demanded that they pay for a new trunk interior...and bro, u gotta get yourself CAA so you can get your car towed all over the place like I do :wink: CAA GOLD membership is the bomb! 4 tows a year upto 250km each!

Kansai which makes the headers, deliberately makes them with 2" collector.

Reason being is that through extensive testing (their headers are used all over asia) 2" gave the best compromise of flow and torque. If you run 2.5 you loose torque - actually it hits a flat spot - at around 3000-4500 rpm - where most people drive the most - but you gain it again after 4500 rpm. 2.5 is good for racing as you are constantly "on the boil" or for turbo applications where getting the exhaust out in an expeditious manner is important. Considering stock honda exhaust tubing ranges from 1.5 to 1.75" 2" is more than sufficient.

ye i was thinking 2.5 is too big but thats why i'm going for 2.25 i've been told that the ideal size for hondas. with 2.0 collectors and 2 1/4 exhaust should be alright i guess right? or is it not even worth it should i just go for a 2" i want to get asmuch power out of my engine as possible if i lose power by putting 2 rather than 2.25 .. but if 2 is enough i'll got for that .. whatever does the trick for me.. all i know is i need a exhaust so what you think..

if i were to put a 2 1/4" would i gain anything? it would cost more i just figured that since i'm doing it now i should do the bvest get tge best... i guess i'll go with your suggestion and save some cash

Like me and bevvboy mentioned, you will sacrifice low end torque for high hp anytime you increase flow. Do you even have a good air intake system?

my shop MK autoworx does full 2.25" mandrel bent not crush bent, for 250$ plus muffler, very nice work, if any of you have seen my red bubble back..number is 905-456-2686 bovaird and highway 10, brampton ask for marty tell him sean gave you the number
