Thankfully the stock pipe finally let go and it is time to replace it. I may as well replace the whole system so looking for some place that specialise in custom exhaust setups. Not looking for anything wild, just a reputable place that can Mandrel Bend and that actually DO IT.

Probably also looking for a Magnaflow dealer as I like their products... not looking for off-the-shelf exhaust system (no Greddy, HKS, blah blah blah)

Any experieces folks?

all I can suggest is to NOT have it welded ON the car. Make sure they weld it on the bench, then fit it to your car, else they'll burn the paint off from under the car and you'll have a rustbucket in 2 winter seasons.

Team Rukus does mandrel bent pipes, and custom installs.
There are lots of Magnaflow dealers around...there is a place by my house in brampton called Master Performance that sells magnaflow.

isn't manderal pipes expensive???? I was quoted $1000 by a shop a year ago for my 91 civic. anyone got a place the does it cheaper??? let me know! thanks

is it really worth it to have Mandrel Bent pipes? will you lose any/that much power if you dunt get it?

400$ is the most you shoudl pay, if u look aaround you can get a place to mandrel bend the piping for you at taht price

I'm sure everyone already knows from all my bragging but JPG Exhaust is the place to go if you're anywhere near Oakville.

They welded my system on the ground then mounted it. They did a fantastic job and I couldn't be happier.

I got the entire thing done (header to muffler), they charged me $600 even for a high flow cat, resonator, 2" piping, and all the labor to put it together. They are very quick too (the guy said they processed 40 cars a day doing custom work for dealerships).

what the!?!?! 600 for a full exhaust they quoted me 1200 for a 2 1/4" with headers high flow cat resonator.. what the?!!? i'm gonna go down there and have a talk with philip

Sorry I mislead you.

I brought my own header and muffler from bevvboy. Still the whole system cost me less than $1000 taxes included.

If you want a *good* CHEAP set of headers, contact bevvboy. Pick up a muffler your comfy with, and JPG will do the rest. Again, the $600 was ONLY for the 2" piping, high flow cat, resonator, and all the labor. They even gave me back all my old junk!

When mine blew up dan, I just went to Zorro and they did it for me. I'm not sure what madrel is but I asked for stainless piping from the cat-back and they did it. No complaints, done under an 1 hour, no complaints yet. About 1 month later, I heard a muffling sound coming from under the car, I brought it to them, they said I needed a new clamp or something, but they just welded the hole shut or something right near the cat, and said dont worry about it, so they didn't charge me a cent !


It made my day ! No money plus that was last year and its still holding up today ! (the weld)


It ended up costing me about $300 or something just for the stainless piping from the cat back installed under an hour (more like 25mins).

A mandrel tube bend maintains the same diameter as straight sections of the tube (within a few thousandths of an inch). A "mandrel" is just a rounded die that is inserted into the tube before it is bent, around which, the bend is made. The mandrel supports the inside tube wall during bending and prevents it from collapsing or kinking into a smaller diameter of less cross sectional area that could impede gas flow. A typical muffler shop bend is a press bend, not a mandrel bend. Because of that, the tube often crushes at that radius and the crushed area decreases the tube diameter. The amount of crushing that results from a press bend is proportional with the bend radius. Crushed bends reduce exhaust flow capacity and usually increase engine pumping losses. Mandrel bends are smooth in appearance and do not introduce unnecessary flow bottlenecks into an exhaust system. Virtually all headers are mandrel-bent but many intermediate tubes and tail pipes are not. The radius of the tube bend is measure from the center of the tube.



a $300 exhaust job is scary IMO. You get what you pay for.

what are bevvboys headers like? good welds? stainless? jpg is charging me 295 for ceramics.. so i don't know what is worth it.. its going to be 2 1/4" outlet.. i just want to make sure the header wont crack and is good performance. . whats the price range mourad?

Well there is no better way to learn about his stuff than to speak to him personally. From what I understand, the aluminized pipes material and the cold steel rolling procedures make it bulletproof and last longer than the car itself. The headers are super light weight (I compared the new ones to my stock headers, almost half the weight). They look brand new even after years of abuse. The weldes are a perfect seal, very thick flanges... hell the guys at JPG were impressed with the build quality and that's what they do for a living. I'm SOO glad I didn't spend double that on DC's.
