as for your comments about the mechanic. Next time you take it to a mechanic, listen to him. Don't act like you know what it could or couldn't be, because it could be the distribuator, infact there's a good chance that it is cause honda ones aren't the best. I deal with customers like you all the time, you come in, we say whats' wrong and you don't believe it. Believe me, if he put in a new dizzy and it didn't fix the problem, he'd be paying for it, not you. Mechanics don't like firing off the parts cannon w/o verifying the prob. first (atleast most don't)
Oh, I'm not denying that it could be the distributor, in fact I thought that at first too but my buddy told me that he doubts it becaues it wouldn't just "go out" right away like that but just get worse over time... i don't midn replacing it, its a wear and tear item anway;s.

The reason I'm pissed off is that it took him 4 hours to diagnose that it's the distributor, which honestly takes like 15 minutes max. I'm also pissed that he didn't call me like he said he would, how hard is it to call the customer when you know he is waiting for his car ? instead he just dicked around for a while before touching my car then didn't even give a **** to call me when it was done.

also, I may be wrong here since I'm not an auto expert, but isn't there a way to "make sure" that it's the distributor? Ie, he can use a volt meter ot check all the connections BEFORE the distributor, and if all of those are getting power, but after the distributor its not getting power anymore, then that's obviously a problem.... but he didn't do that, instead he probably took one look at it and said "yea maybe this is wrong" and that's it. which would be fine if he did this right away and then called me, but after 4 hours and no calling i would expected him to do some more extensive diagnostics than 5 minutes worth of work, and i expect him to call when he is done it's the least he can do.

thanks for the help guys.

PS. how exactly would he be paying for it? he told me it may be the problem and it will cost 250 to fix. if he put in a new dizzy then i would pay 250 whether or not it fixed the problem...

did shatfire tell u that...

BlitzSix you should just get a distributor from the wreckers (or Chris_si98) and grab 1 off those civics. it shouldnt be no more than 30 bucks u just tell them its a window regulator or something because they are pretty dumb.

Ok, well I bought a distributor off of EK_COUPE and put it on and still nothing.

Now it's a bit weird though, when it cranks, it cranks for a few seconds then like pauses (and the interior light turns off) for half of second then it keeps cranking. Never did this before, dunno if it changes anything.

Also, I'm 90% sure I put them on right but if say I put the wires on the wrong things on the distributor would that **** things up? I put plug #1 into the top p;lug, and then 2, 3, 4 in counter clockwise in that order. Also I noticed that on this distributor that I bought the thing that turns that goes into the engine is a bit harder to spin and doesn't spin as freely as the one I pulled out... I'm guessing this is due to the fact that it hasn't been used recently but it's fine right ?

Any ideas guys ? If anyone would be willing to come have a look at it for me and try to find the problem tomorrow (sunday) morning/afternoon it would be greatly appreciated pleae call me at 416 827 2527 I will pick you up if necessary.

thanks.

your lights are gong out ebcause when you crank it draws batt. voltage from your battery, hence why the lights are diming/going off. Hook up a battery charger to it and trickle charge it for 10-20 minutes.
