Car Dies After Pumping Gas...

Guys spring is coming up and i have a major problem with my 1999 Civic SiR. After pumping gas from the Gas Station, i lock the tank with the cap and jump in the car and start it and it tries to start but it just won't start. Then i just turn the key listen for the 3 clicks and then starts but then boggs all the way up to idle roughly...

I was advised that i have an OBD2 car with JDM B16AII with a OBD1 ECU, they told me to disconnect the Evap Purge Solenoid, has anyone heard of this before?

What can cause this issue?

So after your car starts and runs, does it stay rough for the rest of the tank until your next fill up?

this is un-related to you filling up your gas, I dont know why you mentioned it, it's just throwing some people off.

Anyways, unplugged the evap won't do ****.

I would recommend pulling each plug wire at a time and checking to see if you have a dead cylinder. If not.. pull a plug to confirm either weak spark or running rich and go from there...

i use to have the same problem.
after i filled up it would turn over, start, and die right away. never figured it out, doesnt happen often anymore, i just keep the rpms ~2k on start up now.
I think my issue is due to the 1000cc's and walbro though, as it started when i put them in.

I've had similar problems and mine was my distributor.

Check your injectors.

I just had something like this very simular happen to me.

I bought a brand new distributor, with the same results. Change my ECU with the same results.
Changed my Fuel Pressure Regulator and fuel rail with the same results. Tripple checked and almost changed out my whole engine harness with the same results.

Changed my Injectors problem solved.

Just a thought. Hope it helps.
