A/C recharge *help*

Well i purchased a DIY kit for a r134a (RED TEK) and hooked everything up. Before adding any of the substance from the bottle, i noticed that the PSI reading from my Low side of the AC system was high up in the 100s. I'm assuming this is really high because the manual says it should be around 30-38psi max. So i drained it all out and added the red tek until it hit the 30s, but the system didn't seem to be cold. Than I added the entire bottle and it jumped back up to 100s,...so i have no idea whats going on, i think there's a clog in the pipes?....
