A/C compressor question
Hey,
I'm not sure if this is the right forum or if it would be in the interior forum, so I appologize in advance.
I just wanted to know if using a d series A/C compressor on a b-series motor would have a significant affect on the A/C system.
Its a compressor from a d16y7 on a b16a2 motor.
thanks in advance.
.... Bruno Take it away ! LOL

LOL, I got no a/c, so I can't say for sure, but I know ppl that do swaps say you need B series accessories for B series blocks. However, if THAT is a lie, and you CAN in fact use D A/C on a B block and the pulleys line up then there will be no adverse effect on either the engine or the compressor. The compressor clutch shuts down at WOT anyways, so spinning it to 8000 rpm won't damage anything.
2000 d series 38810-P2F-A01 COMPRESSOR (SANDEN) $369.04
2000 b series 38810-P9K-E01 COMPRESSOR (DENSO) $369.04
1997 d series 38810-P2F-A01 COMPRESSOR (SANDEN) $369.04
By part numbers alone, it looks like it won't fit.
