best springs without dramatic drop
I currently have eibach sportlines on my 4th gen and it is WAY too low for me. They are great springs I just can't stand scraping my nice catback exhaust over every ******* speedbump and steep driveway. What would be a good handling spring that doesn't lower the car TOO much (besides the eibach prokit).

P.S. I'm not interested in either sleeves or full coilover setup either.

Eibach PRO-KIT 1.2in 1.0in PN 4007.140

i guess that's all that's out there eh?
|
ITR spring? maybe drop about 1"??
|
i dont really like that idea...i dont trust it for some reason
|
how low are the sportlines?
|
shlammed, if you purchased ITR rear lower arm you could use the full ITR shock/spring ...
|
i think 88crx/civic would work too.

do this .. custom Eibach springs....
step one.... Measure the length of your uncompressed stock springs.... subtract say 1 to 1.5 inches from that length... call them and order custom linear springs in the length you just measured ... also know the spring rate and the diameter of the spring beofre you call .... I'd suggest 300/300 for front and back ... hmmmm these rates seem to be familiar.... ohhh yeah stock ITR's have those rates .... remember to subtract a bit more then the drop you want since your going to a stuffer rate the springs won't compress as much ... I could go into even more details here and math but thats for a sticky tmorrow..... |
^^good idea but I bet he's end up with a car that is lower in teh back and liek a 4x4 in teh front.. I'd say go prokit with a set of half decent shocks...but custom would be cool to pick your spring rate

The last time I checked, Suspension Techniques made 2 different sets for the 5th gens.
If I remember correctly, they had a 1.3 / 1.5 set, and a 1.5 / 1.8 set. |
doesn't h&r have those eom springs that are stiffer but maintain the stock ride height more or less??
|
I'm a 4th gen not 5th.

Eibach PRO!!!! I got a set on one of the cars, my buddy has a set on his car, and his brother has a set on HIS car...
SusTech (Suspension Techniques) 1st spring I EVER bought!!!! AWESOME near stock ride quality. H&R OE and Neuspeed SofSport - H&R makes excellent springs  Combine any one of these with a KYB AGX or a Koni Special for a low budget setup that will outcorner a BMW :nods: |
wtf is koni special? I was thinking about staying with the sportlines and getting koni reds as well...even though im gonna keep scraping.
|
koni special IS koni red, just like koni sport is koni yellow :p
|
oh
|
hey b...remember all that **** i went through with upper control arms cuz of upper balljoints...now when i go over bumper snow you hear a shitload of clunking coming from each tire. what do you think that can be? i know on my buddies VW his was lower balljoints...i dont even know where they are on my car.
