theres still i alot more extra things that can go wrong with a turbo setup compared to n/a. if should agree n/a is alot better realiable daily driver compared to boost. My suggestion if you got a forced induction kit make sure you got another car to drive.

I'll be totally honest, my whole family is against me, they all know cars but me. I know how to drive, i've driven my dads 12 second mustang and my brothers 13.6 civic. But they wont help me at all. I have my civic sitting here and I honestly have no clue where to start, who to contact and what to get...thats why I came here. Thanks everyone so far, and I hope to hear more suggestions.

do your research, talk to people with direct experiences, not word of mouth, or "hey i heard this" or "i saw that" answers to your questions. try not to get taken advantage of either since you claim you are a bit green to working on cars. try to hang out with some people who actually do the work on their cars themselves. most people who can appreciate an honest desire to learn are willing to share their knowledge.
i'd come up with a hp goal and a "purpose goal" for the car and decide the path you want to go down based on that. do you want a show car that isn't all that fast but looks pretty, or do you want a sleeper that eats v8's for breakfast, lunches on motorcyles and embarasses porsches for dinner... or do you just want a nice clean car that is fun to drive and go to the track occassionally. approach it with a complete car in mind. i've said it before and i'll say it again, too many people just pick up a bunch of parts, throw them together on the car and wonder why the $ they put into it isn't yeilding the performance they were expecting. no one has the time to do the job right the first time but they always make time to do it right the second time which is always more costly in the end. why do things twice?
list some specific goals and i'm sure the opinions will start rolling in.

sure for your budget you can get LS-T no problem
but there are other stuff on your car you need to take care before you put on a turbo
a b18c1 can give you a decent pull and launch if you drive right... just get some decent i/h/e for now, and sell it out later when u go turbo... get a good clutch right now while u're at it... something that can handle probably 300whp atleast... get LSD if you can... upgrade your brakes and suspension...
once next summer comes... put on good rubbers , turbo kit, and get it tune right... you're ready to roll in style next year =)
building a car is about patience, you can't rush everythin gto be done at once unless you're made of money... try to enjoy each step and the process of things =)
so i agree with just a b18c1 or a jdm b18c swap for now... some upgrades for handling and stopping =)
good luck
