best bang for buck (engine swap)

ok so here's the plan. i got a 1993 civic hb, and i want much more power, hence engine swap in the title. what would be a good engine to go for....maybe a 95 sir or a gsr. what are the specs like on those(and price), and woul they be fairly simple to transplant.

and also, is it reletivly the same, doing a swap with a crx aswell. same engine bay size, compatability?

, thanks for any imput u have

Si-R B16 will cost about $3000

GS-R B18 will run about $1000 more. Im thinkin b16, if u got the extra cash put it into a intake, header, exhaust. Gotta be more specific with ur goal, u gonna turbo, N/A tune, NOS. a b16 is not "super fast" how fast u wanna go??

I suggest a LS motor...B18B...decent power stock for a hatchback and later on you can turbo that bitch and make a **** load of power on a stock block.

if i go with a gsr engine....wont there be a conflict with the exaust? cause you have to put on an integra header , then there's a civic hb exaust. is there some customizing that has to be done there?

Mini Me - use your own block.

Read and learn...

180hp maybe...

Considering you have 100 (at most) on tap now and you can cruise easily at 120-130kmh, a 40 - 80hp increase would be more than enough..

so he was referring to the B18c then

Coz I saw someone posted a B18B for like $1500, if he could find a B18B for a grand then that would be nice hahaha since I misread then sorry about that.

If he wants a 180-220 then he has to get a B18c right? a B16a can only go ~160 right??? Im not sure about the other B16's

if your just gonna do I/H/E with a swap i dont think you will get over 180whp. I believe its about 140 hp at the wheels for a GSR although thats probably off quite a bit.
