sounds like your cat is blown through/(or you dont have one if thats what u ment) If its not a loud backfire, its cuz the cats gone...the muffler and resonators should take care of most of it tho...

no u cant pass emmissions without one, its like a 300-400 fine if ur caught without one to fkn expensive, its good to have a cat tho cause without one ur gonna have like no backpressure, with a small engine u need backpressure.

Why do you need backpressure with a smaller engine? (or any engine for that matter).

Back pressure helps with the low end torque... not sure why but it does...I'd love to know why myself....

It sounds cool though, like when WRC rally cars shift.

I have the same sound when I shift at high rpm. It sounds cool when your rippin on the car and after you shift into 3rd and bam. It didn't do that till I installed the hi-flow cat and mandrel bent piping.

BAD: Running rich is using to much gas , engine doesnt run right, and can puff black smoke. Running lean is not good either, it can cause detenation (blow a hole in a piston NOT GOOD) .

Good: The good is running perfect - right in the middle of lean and rich. You can tell by looking at your sparkplugs.. Usually they should be a nice browny/gray kind of color but if they are black, or white there could be issues!

Thanks
Joe
