they are all similar, none really harder then the other, just different wiring when it comes to vtec vs. non vtec

some b18c are obd1 also.
But yes the b16(obd1) is slightly easier to install.

Just get a cable LS tranny and you're fine. You can swap any b series motor in there as long as you use the cable flywheel/clutch/pressure plate. You could even use a YS1( 93' GSR) tranny but the ratios suck.

And it doesnt matter what OBD the motor is, you can easily just swap in the obd1 or keep your obd0 injectors and distributor.

I'm running a B16 in my 89' converted to OBD1, I still have my obd0 b16 stuff laying around.

you can't be serious? are you saying get an ls tranny for the b16 and the the YS1 gs-r tranny has sh1tty ratio's? are you on crack? lol, YS1 gs-r tranny is usdm ITR 1-5, buddy. and, how would a b16 be advantageous in any way with a long geared ls tranny? is this a joke?

Bingo.
I love the YS1 for it's close ratios, but I spend alot of time on the highway, which is why i'm probably gonna drop in a LS 5th gear.
Getting just 400km on a tank ****ing kills me. I'm used to seeing 550-560.....

YS1's in good shape are harder and harder to find. Mine has a notchy 3rd and cant afford OEM parts from Acura.

that's weaksauce. it makes no sense. i'll tell you why. my boy drive with a jdm J1 tranny is his teg. J1 has the shortest 5th available. he would get 550-600km per tank. the gearing never harmed his mileage. his mileage decreased as soon as he used vtec fuel and timing maps. with an ls ecu his mileage was excellent with the vtec tranny. secondly, i recently put an ls 5th in my YS1 lsd tranny, and it sucks. the ls 5th needs more throttle to move the car so it cancels out the conversion. if my car revs lower but needs more gas to move the car its a waste. what i am saying is the shorter geared tranny needs less throttle to move the vehicle. lastly, who the fvck cares about gas mileage? if you do, buy a vx. i make a bit over 200whp and drove 320km on the first half of my tank a few weeks ago. when your car is tuned, it drives efficiently. but once again, if one cares about gas mileage, you need to leave the sport. srt8 up
