Apexi WS2 Muffler helpppp needed badly !!!!

Ok i just got the Apexi Ws2 catback installed in my car..sounds good and everything but there is one issue.. The dam thing is making a vibrating sound.. and it seems like after installing the WS2 it messed up my idle.. when its in neutral the thing idles at 1500 rpm for a sec or so and then drops down to 1200 rpm or so and then it makes that vibrating sound for a sec and then stops.. The guy i brought it from says its becuase my car doesn't have enough power or something thats why its vibrating.. Is that true? Need HELP BADLY..the thing is driving me crazy

Thanks

David

Instead of making fun of what the guy told him, how about giving him suggestions as to what it may be?

Thanks

jack the car up and check for a loose heat shield, easy quick, cheapest fix, might aswell start there

while the cars up have the car running and try to pin point the location from where the noise is coming from

Try re-setting the ECU so the car can "learn" the new flow characterisitcs and adjust itself accordingly.

Rusty and rattling heat shields are a common problem with the 96-00 Civics. Just tear it off.

CHECK THE HEAT SHEILDS... trust me i just got the apex gt spec and its big and one of the heat sheilds does touch it...i get a rattle when sittin idle or slowly moving or perhaps the pipes dont fit ur car like a glove and are touching it....the only reason you prolly hear it when sitting idle is because theres less noise unlike highway 7000rpm ****

if it at the trunk i say pop the heat sheilds off cuz nothins gonna burn back there...but then again i will not be held responsible if somethin seriously goes wrong....haha love it

i had the wsp2 on my car for almost a year with no problems
Check for exhaust leaks, it should not affect your idle.

" The guy i brought it from says its becuase my car doesn't have enough power or something thats why its vibrating.. "

I love it!!! LMAO! Made my day...lol.

My muffler sometimes taps against the rear bumper at certain idle rpms....but no biggy.

If it's possible...get down on the ground and see if you can localize where the vibration noise is coming from. As mentioned before it could be a heat shield or something along those lines. Also check all the exhaust hangers. One could be off.

it could also be touching the rear lower control arm or maybe even the shifter... in addition to any heat shilds if they're bent/hanging.

^^ true....before I installed the short throw shifter kit, when I moved the shifter side to side in neutral, it would ding the exhaust pipe.

Thanks guys but i found the issue already and its fixed...The car is running great and everything is good.. Muffler sounding good too.. but i still have one issue...before i installed the muffler..the car would start right when i start the car.. but now it takes a couple or seconds before the car starts..why is that? like it cranks for 2-3 sec.... could it be the spark plugs?

no its not the spark plugs.

Could be that you are low on fuel OR your battery needs to be charged

check the condition of your cap and rotor.

in the winter time, cars need to run a lil richer at start up... the super cold weather requires more fuel. that might also explain the longer crank times.
