Anyone know how to install a SiR front stock strut bar???
Does anyone know what's required to install this front strut bar on a non SiR? I know holes are required to be drilled, however, how is the bar supposed to be fastened down?

well only the SiR's have the mounts for the strut bars right, but in a non SiR of the 96-00 chassis, there is a place but it's sealed up and driling would be required.
But I'm wondering how the bolts are supposed to fasten into the drilled holes like the stock SiR ones

are you sure it's an SiR stock front strut bar? I have a strut bar myself and it mounts on the top of the shocks like most aftermarket bars (other than JIC, Mugen styled bars). Anyways, the SiR bar shouldn't fit over the struts, the SiR bar reinforces the body more so than the strut towers

i WOULD LIKE TO SEE IT , i think I have an idead of what you are talking about . But I would have to see first. I have seen doubled up bars but i am guessing you would just use a regular bolt that fits.......

You can get the bolts from just about anywhere, and they're approximately 25mm long. However, they come 12mm course thread (1.5 pitch) from the factory.
- Drill the holes
- Insert bolts and washers from fenderwell.
(here's your chance to apply some silicon to the bolt, so it stays in place)
- Mount the bar
- Install the upper washer and nut
- tighten (or torque) down the nut, while holding the lower bolt in place.
It's not too much trouble if you have everything, but unless you got the bar dirt cheap, any other bar will do.

cool cool, sounds fairly simple..I mean I already have a type R style bar...and I was just thinking of doubling up the bars in the engine bay, or selling my current one (or rather 2) and picking up another one
Thanks guys for the replies
