HELLO ALL;

RECENTLY I PUT A B16AII IN MY 95 H/B, SINCE THE SWAP MY TEMP HAS GONE WAY UP, BUT ONLY ON THE HIGHWAY.

B4 THE SWAP IT CONSISTANTLY RAN AT ABOUT 1/3 MAX TEMP, NO MATTER WHAT THE SPEED.

NOW, ONCE I HIT 120 KM/H ITS AT 1/2, AND IF I ACCELERATE IT CLIMBS SIGNIFICANTLY,

160 KM/H ALMOST 3/4, I AM NOT ABOUT TO FIND OUT WHAT HAPPENS IF I GO FASTER.

IS THIS NORMAL?

DO I NEED A NEW RAD/FAN/THERMOSTAT?

IF SO, ANYONE KNOW A PLACE WEST END OF GTA TO GET WHAT I NEED TO COOL MY BABY DOWN

It's normal dude...chances are your old little civic rad was blocked and clogged but your old motor wasn't even testing it so you wouldn't know.

But now that you have a motor that 'does something' (no offence to all you SOHC guys) the rad is struggling. I suggest you replace your rad with one from a Teg... I did this and I know Overkill-Si has one too. I run nice and cool now.

You can get one new or track down a used one. I picked mne up used for $60.

Also, you will need to pay a little cash for hte install too. Your rad supports will need ot be relocated to accept the bigger core.

HOWEVER, if you have a/c you will need to choose what you want more...you cool or your motor col. The teg's core will not fit if you are running (and plan to keep runing) a/c.

In the event you want ot keep a/c I suggest a nice stainless steel rad from Flowdyne or someone similar. Might cost you a bit more than the teg rad but will do the job well. They also look sexy. Juggz gas one and he runs cool now.

I have a JDM B16A2 in my hatch and I didn't change my radiator, just using the old one from SOHC one. No problem about the temp at all, I don't know if the temp meter in the cluster is trustable or not but from the cluster, the needle just go about 1/3 after running and stay.

and if you dont want to get an integra one, you can use a prelude/accord one. no chances of ever running too hot

I've been running my stock rad from my SOHC motor for almost 2 and a half years now and no problems.

with DOHC engine? I may upgrade to a Type R one later on if there are any used for sale but SOHC is fine I guess. so I think maybe his radiator is just getting too old or sth, so get a teg. radiator will be better.

A rad from the B16 equiped Del Sol would work awsome too. It's probably smaller than a teg one, and was designed to work with the engine you have.

PS: how much do Fluidyne rads go for?

one more options, the EG auto tranny one comes with a bigger rad., I think some ppl don't know this and you may try your luck to go junk yard to find one if there is any EG. But I still think getting a teg one is better

Could simply be your thermostat...may need replacing...best thing to do it replace your thermostat and flush your rad...then see where that takes you...if you're lucky, that could just be the problem and you would have saved hundreds.

My enitre Rad transplant only cost $120. that was over a year ago now and it is still performing perfectly.

I personally would not invest money into Thermo switches... go right after the problem. Keep in mind it's only going ot get worse. Every thing from this point on that you do to your motor will more than likely make it run hotter so fix it now.
