sunfire bashing eh?
not that i drive one but as much as i hate domestics, ones with enginge improvements i can respect. The ones that try and look like imports are the ones that I can't stand.

So, J-body's tryin to be imports

I heard that Cavs and Sunfires will be coming with superchargers in 2004 model. Only extra 50 horse, but respectable.

This particular sunfire has a bodykit, rims, lowered etc and I definetly respect it, cause its the first one Ive seen done up right.

I dont think you guys give enough credit to an automatic transmission, first off, if hes running a Turbo hes running a Chip, and if hes running a chip hes mapped his RPM shifts for optimal performance.

Second, there is such a thing very similar to powershifting that you can do with an automatic, if he brings his RPM's high enough in neutral, then pops it into drive, he will easily dispatch you.

Automatic is many cases will win the day against mediocre manual drivers, it is very hard to **** up when driving an automatic (Altho possible if you miss your RPM drive movemen), as when your in a manual, you can often times lose the race to yourself.

When you say it's very hard to screw up when driving an auto, that is exactly what we mean. It's hard to screw up driving an auto, any idiot can drive an auto. It takes a pro to drive a standard and more skill. Standard, when in the hands of a skilled perfessional allows you much more control than an anto.

Even though the technology exist, you ever think about why race cars aren't fully automatic?

IMO standard is for sports cars and hard core drivers, auto is for soccer moms and minivans.

Then you dont understand how RPM shifts, ECU chips and torque converters work, an auto in the hands of the right person can overcome alot if he has the proper supporting cast.

Im not arguing the fact that manuals are for sports cars, im saying that automatics in sports cars can be manipulated in there own way, and to assume your going to win over one because your cars are similar and your sporting a manual and hes not, does not guarantee you anything.

Which was the original thought of this post.

I don't want to get drawn into a petty tiff with you but hear me out.

Automatics are not a true test of a driver. When draging, that is what it is, a test between drivers and machines.
If you read above you will see Mike and I were talking about a car being done up right.

In fact you agree, auto does not say sports car.

When you say we don't give enough credit to an auto, it is hardly the case, autos work great but they don't test drivers.

They do test drivers, just not as much as manuals test drivers.

Like I stated earlier, you can power an automatic, the chip does the rest.

What im starting to not like is your big mouth, put up or shut up, your arguing with me over nothing, now your passing judgement.

And you drive what exactly since you know so much about cars?

He was simply responding to your negative post regarding Hondas (with the thumb down).

It seems to me that you're the one passing judgement here.

I have given my two cents because us TCC members stick together.

Just because I drive a Saleen, doesnt mean I dont know more about Toyota, Honda or Nissan motors then half you people who drive them.

The guy is challenging my factual info, and id just like to know on what basis does has he aquired the knowledge he thinks he possesses?

I post on alot of boards, nice to get different perspectives, and you know what they always say, keep your friends close, and your rice even closer.

PS, Its she, not he...
