Summer Show tour

I have a an idea!!!!

I am planning a 2009 5 month show tour that will cover 8 cities. I will be hosting Car shows and Audio shows each location. There will be a points system in effect and the grand champion will be crowned at the finals event.
So here is my question. I would like to know how many people will support the events and travel to shows. Also what is the maximum you have paid to enter an outdoor event. And if you were someone that just showed up to one event how much would be too much to turn you away. I guarentee to have some of the best trophies you have ever received.
Give me your imput.

Cities involved will be Sudbury, North Bay, Timmins, Barrie, New Market, Toronto, Owen Sound, and Woodbridge. The farther shows will have bonus points added.

Newmarket, not New Market. You're fired, just for that, I won't show, and I live in Newmarket.

All that aside. Here is my Input, If you want people to show up to a new show, that hasn't had any exposure, it should be Free, or really cheap. The most I've paid to show is $10/$15, the rest were FREE. Have to figure, travel time, gas, lodging if needed. $15 is the limit, any higher and it's not worth it. really.

Get someone who is creative and can spell to do your posters/flyers, etc. Advertise the crap out of it. Give group discounts, Crews of 5 or more cars, $5 off each car or something like that. If you do charge a fee, FOOD, music soft drinks, get sponsors to offset your cost so you don't have to charge a fee, for the frst run anyways, then once you've built up rep, then do a small fee, maybe donate half the proceeds to a charity, like MADD.

There, thanks for reading, seriously, Newmarket.

It was already posted and I couldn't change Newmarket. I spend $400 + on trophies for every show and I don't have any sponsors to cover the trophy costs. I do however give away $500 in prizes and every show which is donated. I am looking to hold car shows in cities north of Toronto so some of the people up there can see some sweet rides. Also I enjoy a nice drive and the opportunity to see different parts of Ontario.

It's a good idea to do. A lot of enthusiasts are that, enthusiasts. We do cruises to CSCS cayuga, Shannonville, there are Tuner sound shows in Barrie and such, more shows the better.

Hope it works out for you.

So, what is in it for you?

What is your involvement with the scene / industry ? Are you a dealer? Will these shows be held at the stores you sell your product at?

My hopes are to keep the audio industry alive while not going into debt. I work for a company that represents Soundstream so I am lucky enough to have some prizes sponsored. I cover all of the costs of running show and hope that the entry fees cover the costs. I attended a bunch of shows in my younger years and had a great time so I am holding these shows to give back a bit I guess. I hope you get involved. The only way to keep this whole tuner/performance/audio industry alive is with some involvement.

There is no plan to offer IASCA at these events.
