suggestion for the show team when cruzing in a group

when we where heading home from grand bend one of our members had to pull off the road to fix a problem with the car. now some of us had FRS radios and some did not, and he wass one of them. now i noticed he was missing and radioed ahead and 3 out of the 6 in front of this member got off the hwy and waited to see if he would drive by and he did which was good.
i feel from now on when we cruz each car should have a FRS radio for comunication reasons, see when u are in the middle of no ware and you car breaks down and no one saw u pull off it can be a little scary so this is just a suggestion.

i thikn of course it's a good idea, but i don't think we can make everyone get one...

if you can't afford an FRS just get ppl's cell #'s... IMO

As a matter of fact, Spiderman and I were talking about purchasing a set of FRS radios couple of hours before we left home.

Why don't the two of you buy one set and just split it? You really only need one. That's what most of us should do, if you feel the cost are too much. Get a group of team members and pair them up, then buy a set and split it.

Yes, no?

putting someone who has an frs at the end of the pack would be good, and one in the lead car....that way the last car can stop with anybody and tell the lead car, without everybody needing an frs...

just a suggestion for those of us that dont have frs's

they're grat to have for n e thing, and pretty cheap too, just make sure it has subchannels

i always let someone borrow my other frs, but like stated 2 people can invest in a pack n split it...

plus if its a cruize then thats what it is, stay together, no need to be doing passes everywhere, stay in a ine stick to it at speed - but never happens

Before anyone goes out and buys them, we are looking into a gB or maybe even a sponsorship. Hopefully we will know soon.

These radios are GREAT! When I used to do all the road trips with my paintball teams, these radios made all the difference in the world. Not just for road safety, but during the events as well. Grabbing food, finding sweet deals from vendors, etc etc....

Yes that is a great idea so we dont have a repeat of what happened on the grand bend trip. Just make sure the ones we are getting are high quality....I hate it when people are using the cheap ones and they sound like they over those horrible intercoms at drive-thrus.

something with a remote mic would be great..
most of the probs with these things are cuz they're usually all-in-one

btw, in for the GB
(then we gotta see about getting them all "fixed" with one of the middle channels, between 27.405 and 28.000 and maybe look at getting them peaked too )

ya a headset would be great addon. its frustrating trying to drive then having to search for the talk button on the frs. it takes your attention away from driving. good call marty.
