Race License??

Not for Open wheel stuff
I would suggest contacted the CASC-OR office in regards to Licenses. you most likely need a A class racing license from them or a B class (Novice) and you can get those from various schools around the Province.
a C Class License is $50 and is one you just pay for but it is only good for Time Trials and Ice racing.
Ian Law does off a great school. but it's not one you can get a license at as far as I know. You want to look into the HRC race school and the MCO race school. or if you are willing to travel to get the license, then the Trac Racing Depot School is the best bang for the buck school.
I hope this helps

also to get a racing license you will most likely be required to join a CASC-OR affiliated Club. I'd recommend HADA (www.hadamotorsport.com) since they are a group of Honda and Acura Drivers and Affiliated with TCC.
Also what type of Open Wheel racing are you planning to do?
personally I recommend keeping it cheap and running autoslalom or Solo 1 time trials. but hey ... whatever

Come out to the next SoloSprint event! July 29-30 at Toronto Motorsport Park.
A lot of HADA members will be there, including myself.
Here's a link to the upcoming events, as well as accredited ontario race driving schools, open wheel sprints, etc. http://www.casc.on.ca/events.php#s1

I currently sit in 4th place in points with the Southern Ontario Sprints group. (www.southernontariosprints.com) This weekend is at South Buxton (in chatham) Its been a decent year thus far. two 3rd places in my last two races.
I love racing sprint car though.. so much power.. can you imagine 700hp in a 1500 lb car?? (Thats way lighter then a civic hatch)
Thanks
Joe

It is my car, my brother races also, ( he has his own car) but my father, and I do it for time spent together. (he really enjoys racing)
Sponsorship is only partial. although some have full rides. (Hopefully someday )
Sponsorship for something like this can be anything from a case of oil up to a dollar amount. We are always looking to promote new sponsors.
I'd like to actually pick up a real decent sponsor for the final race this year, The Canadian Sprint Car Nationals held at Ohsweken Speedway in Early Sept. Last year there were over 75 cars for 24 spots in the A main, The rest went home. I qualified, but missed my B main due to a mechanical problem. This year there should be well over 100 plus cars for 24 spots. Makes for an interesting race.
If you have never seen sprint car racing.. check some videos out here.
