hahaha...when a professional tests a car they hardly focus on drag times. Its the after thought. Its about total driving experience. There are places in this world where top speeds are reached.

As for resale, a car is worth whatever someone will pay for it. I wouldn't even let someone look at mine for under $18,000.

When you talk about modding suspension, what are you talking about?? shocks and springs, lowering??

funny you should say you wont let someone see it for under 18g, when in reality, its worth anywhere for 13-15g which goes back to my original point.

but ya, i dont care about this much, simply stating this, its funny that when these owners find a car thatll beat em, instead of admitting it, even more sh*t is being talked.

im guessing you dont have the stock civic engine. which brings me to another question, at what point does a civic no longer be considered a civic. i mean, many people here boast about civics and how fast they are, yet none of them have any original civic parts. i can see going from a dx to a b16 found in a CIVIC sir, but then going to an integra or prelude engine, with an integra suspension and interga interior, it is no longer a civic. put that much into a 2.4 and for cheaper you can still have a quick car, but im not gonna get into defending anything, im jus speaking in general.

so your lugnuts take more torque then my honda makes ... thats great... my honda's lugnuts take more torque then my honda makes ... your point?

straight line is for people who don't realize what a steering wheel does...

Am I not the one who told him how fast to expect the Prelude??

His Sunfire is boosted, against a basically stock car, where's the challenge in that?? His car should win. When was I really talking sh*t, just stating facts. I even said his car should win a 1/4 mile time. His buddies lude is 3,150 lbs with approx. 160 whp, and 125 tq at the front wheels. What did he say his car was pushing??

with the hp and tq you have there, low 14's suck... i have seen civics with well under 200hp pull those numbers off consistantly...

out of 1.6L lol

but hey, to each their own, i never go bragging that my car is fast, because there is always someone faster....

I'm just dealing with the case at hand...

Turbo Sunfire vs. Stock Prelude

The difference here is you and I are talking different kind of drag racing, I'm talking about drag at track events (CSCS). You are talking kill stories, of which I do not really give credit to. Nor will you here me brag that I "smoked" a firefly or base cavalier, very uninteresting IMO.

At the track (when running competition series), boost applications are categorized together, and NA applications are grouped together. Then they further break things down by times, and you also have bracket. These are usually won and lost by driver skill, and setup. This is RACING....

He was talking car comparison, hence my response. If you were to buy fruit at the grocery store would you only consider colour?? No you would look at colour, firmness (or soft spots), ripeness...ect.

My 14 second boosted car beats my buddies 15 second stock car, therefore my car is superior is silly. Your car is simply faster in a straight line. Have to give credit where credit is due, fast is nothing to laugh at. I like fast cars too.

i have nothing againts bracket racing, autox, and any other form of racing, but when the majority of people here talk about apples, you have to talk about apples too. the majority talks about straight line 1/4 mile.

also, so then next time there is a post, let me race my b18c civic vs. your stock z24 ill deal with the case at hand too.

I wonder what would the outcome of a 2.4L Civic, with roughly the same weight vs a 2.4L Sunfire. Same displacement, same drivetrain type, should be a good race.

it was amuzing .. but now I'm bored.. I haven't locked a thread in awhile.. and this one is a good cadidate since nothing useful is coming from it.

there are sayings like no replacement for displacement....

but their are also sayings about wieght and how lighter is better... so whatever I'm done... next topic... how about we add a corner in the middle of the drag strip?
