I'd wait for someone using boost to reply, and check out Youtube videos.
I'm using a AEM TruBoost, but the car isn't on the road yet, so I can't comment on the gauge. I've seen videos of it on youtube, and I expect to be disapointed . I would go with a brand like Apexi, or GReddy... Your call

On our MR2, we're using a boost gauge from princessauto, was $15 I think. Looking at and comparing it to the boost reading directly from the mega-squirt, it's pretty damn close. Screw those $100+ gauges! lol.

What is more important is how well your boost controller and waste gate can controll boost.

i use the trees to measure boost, when everything is a blur...turn it down a bit. No but MPR is right, but as for oil pressure i would not use princess auto, something more accurate and reliable.

i currently have stewart warner installed, works well

Aem truBoost is a good gauge. Though haven't seen it compared to any standalone, but I helped my friend install one. Its been over 6months and no problems whatsoever.

Though to be honest I would do what Mike did, get a regular mechanical gauge such as one from princess auto, and it'll work fine.

Just make sure the vacuum line running to the gauge has no kinks, holes, leaks and is no longer then it needs to be. Excessive vacuum line length will give the gauge sluggish response.
