d15b7 non vtec

its hard to make it out in the picture but i dont see a vtec solenoid.

can u not see the type of engine it is on the block? it should be on it right under that upper rad hose u see in the front beside the exhaust manifold on the left side

go look at the car urself. test drive it. see how it feels and dont get too anxious to buy the car. get a trust worthy mechanic to come look at it and let him tell u if its worth buying. or if the problems it has are worth fixing.

if it was vtec it'd have the plugs closer to front of the motor. that's a 1.5L at best it's a SOHC ZC. to add no a 70hp motor isn't fun but the cx is the lightest shell and if you plan on a swap you could have a better power to weight ratio then if you have an Si vtec and cheaper. just you don't get a power sunroof or mirrors just manual everything. Don't get me wrong I've got an Si and I wouldn't want a cx, dx, vx or even an SIR. I like my car and it's all preference. plan what your doin with the car long term if your not lookin at it as a winter beater and as somethin you're keeping and then decide what platform to start with

if it was a single cam ZC it WOULD have vtec only the DOHC ZC has no vtec

good point i didnt even notice the thing about the spark plugs. because vtec only works on the intake side of a SOHC VTEC engine. and the spark plugs would be in the way of the vtec lobe on the cam in this picture

honestly....ur not gonna get anything without a problem for 1000-1500 dollards its either got rust holes alllllllll over the body or something along those lines.

and i guess ur new here but ur gonna get attacked and **** talked if u talk about racing here...of course u meant take ur buddys miata on the track rightttt?????

as ol dusty sed, if ur looking for a 9 second civic the cx shell is perfect...if u just wanna have a little fun, ur not gona have any with a d15b7 with out $$$

ull be able to find a nice civic Si with power sunroof mirrios and all that for about 2.5 grand somewhere here in the GTA on the road with not as mnay problems as u would encounter with that thing ur looking at and ur current price range

You'll have to do lots of looking around for a $1000-$1500 civic. Is this your first car?

ya of corse on a track and not drag racing i dont need a 9 sec i am sure i would be happy with a car with 120-150 hp and that can carve up the turns hopefuly as good as the miata . i guess i know i wont get a perfict car . i mean it needs to run pretty good for a while untill the summer when i can spend some time workin on it myself and as little rust as possible somehting not to much of a eyesore . this is my 3rd car , 99 mustang auto new , 02 a4 auto used and now soon to be 92-95 civic hb .

Your both wrong. Its a d15b7 1.5lt non vtec. You can't get a sohc ZC in any Candian or US models.

And civicEJ1 the ZC comes in all different models. There is a vtec and non vtec SOHC ZC. I no I have a ZC non vtec in my car running 13.8"s. And the ZC vtec is the jdm versoin of the Z6. There exactly the same.

And to the OP if you get a A6 camshaft with an ajustable cam gear, a SI tranny, I/H/E and shave the block to bump compression you can make good power with the B7. I was making 135whp and running high 14's with my old B7 set-up. So don't let people tell you that there is no power to be made in these engines.

OP read this and you will be fine. Making good power out of the B7 is easy and affordable.

i never said that ZC engines dont come in vtec and non vtec or w/e u sed i said theres no DOHC VTEC ZC motor, dual camZC's are non vtec the single cam zc is vtec.

ur more than likley right bout making power outta a b7 ive never done it so i wouldnt noe im just sayin stock that motor sucks
