Do you guys use honda plugs/wires? Is there a huge difference b/w the oem and aftermarket? Any good aftermarkets that can be used to save some $?

don't buy the spark plugs from honda, all they are is NGK BKR6E-11's (v-power) which can be bought from crappy tire, part source, napa, or where ever for like $7 for 2, instead of $8 each from honda.
I prefer OEM spark plug wires, but NGK blue's will do just fine.

I actually read some horror stories about plugs being too loose/tight. I just want piece of mind and don't want to create an expensive problem.

Anyone have the torque spec for the plug?

remember to use some anti-seize on the threads of the spark plug.

I would not really recommend anti-seize on spark plugs, anti-seize if it gets into the combustion chamber can foul o2 sensors and cats. Or it can cause anything path to ground and cause a mis-fire. Obviously this is if you over due it.. so if you put anti seize put a very very light coat and put it near the top of the threads.

Also, remove the plugs once the engine has cooled down, this reduces the chance of the threads becoming damaged on alum. heads. Also, general rule of them for 14mm plugs are 7-15 ft lbs.. I've never once tq'ed a spark plug, i just put them in hand tight and then a final tighten. You should never put in a plug really tight.

you don't need very much anti-seize, you'd have to be pretty careless to get it all over the place.
I hardly ever torque spark plugs either, usually just go tight then 1/4 of a turn more.

I have one more question while on topic. Would I be able to buy pre-gapped plugs for this engine or do I have to buy the tool and gap them? If I have to gap them, what spec would it be for the b16?

well, most plugs come pre-gapped.
If the box says BKR6E-11 then they'll be gapped to .044" like they should. If its just BKR6E i'd buy the $0.99 gapping tool and gap them to .044"
