Performance for a D15B7

Hey guys, I am looking for some tips on how to get a little more performance from this engine. I know there not the best but I am racing oval track with it so the rules are tight on what can be done and not be done. The track I am at has a reader and can tell if the ECU has been modified so I am not touching that. Any hints would be useful.

Mmmm.. not going to make to much power with a D15, unless your going turbo.

I'd start off with a I/H/E

let us know what the rules are on witch parts you can have and what you cant.

You can make power out of these little engines....trust me.
I made 135whp on my old B7 with a simple but effective set-up.
-Mill the head 0.60"
-Find a A6 camshaft with a Y7 camgear(or get an ajusatble)
-Cai,header,2.25" exhaust
-stock bottom end with a exeddy stage1 clutch
-And most important SI tranny! I shaved 0.7 off my 1/4 with this one.

I was running 14.7" with this set-up in a CX HB.
Not bad for a little 1.5.

Ok, my fault for not posting more info than I did. No CAI/H/E allowed in the rules, the rules say STOCK only but there has to be something small I can do to help with a little more power. Everything helps in the end, and the transmission has to be Automatic so unless the Si Auto tranny is better no point in switching. I have to have a non-direct flow muffler(basically no straight through muffler) I am allowed to remove the CAT and I can't go bigger than 1.5" exhaust piping.

Wow has to be auto tranny??? Theres your biggest setback right there.
If everything has to be stock....you can still mill the head 0.60" and bump your compression up and use a thiner stock y8 head gasket.....which will all so bump your compression up. If you don't know the more compression you have the more power your making.
The y8 stock EM is the best flowing stock d header.
And I all ready told you the best way to make power....using a stock A6 camshaft with a Y7 cam gear! This is has been proven to make the most dramatic increase in power. This will bump you up alot over stock and make the biggest difference if your going to stay in the rules. Hope this helps.

Sunset speedway runs a class called 4fun, there is a buyout rule ineffect to keep the costs of racing down. They dont require a full roll cage because of using automatic tranny's it keeps the speed down so they don't need the full cage.
