oil jets
im confused when i see some pics of guys plugging up the oil jets that are supposed to cool the pistons to extend the life of them. i read that forged pistons dont need them but wudnt it still benefit from them.

Raises system pressure, allows focus of lubrication, reduces oil temperatures which is very important for oil stablilty. You still get oil fling off the crankshaft which will help with lubrication and slight cooling.
You may notice that every engine that has oil squirters has a adapter on the oil filter mounting location that is cooled by water. I much rather ensure good oil temperature and pressure then trying to cool the base of the piston being 300-500*. I am not sure if this was an attempt to be able to run tighter piston to wall clearance on hondas part or not.
The squirters might be more relavent to a cast aluminum piston then forged but i rather keep oil temperature down and block them off. You can do other measures to reduce piston temperature such as coating the tops of the piston.
