Obd Scanners

Obd1 and obd2


Does anyone own one of these, if so whats the deal with them, can u use tehm on any car? i would like to get one that can attatch to my macbook but not dependand on a comp.

any ideas/ comments

what are your ideas about having an obd1 or obd2 compatible scanner ? data stream?

he (gary) asked you what you wanted to do with the obd scanner.
I've never used one (b/c there are other ways of checking codes that don't require an expensive scanner), but to my knowledge they work on any car, provided you get the one for domestic cars or for import cars....i think.

maybe if you answered the question we could help you? There are a million different scanners out there. Ones that just read codes, ones that can datalog, freeze frame, run tests, etc
