Ignition problem?

When i turn the key, nothing happens. No lights, no beep, no stereo.

My 4-ways and alarm still work. Any ideas on how to troubleshoot this problem?

Thanks

-Miller

check the connections on your battery.
the reason why your alarm still works is because you have a backup battery for your alarm.
maybe you left your lights on and drained the battery

Ignition switch or the starter or the main fuse is blown.

^ Those are the 3 most common culprits, check them.

serious!....thanks Dan.

The starter is fine (yet it doesnt crank because there is no signal from the ignition), i'll check the main fuse and ignition switch.

Where is the ignition switch?

Ignition switch is where you put the key in the steering column.

Sounds like the switch contacts might be bad or broken wire etc.
Electrical problems usually announce themselves as the temp gets colder and outside is damp. As said before check the main fuses etc. also.

No problem Miller. It's located where they guy above said, in the steering column. I remember on my Acura EL there was a recall on them, so I had it fixed for free of course.

Hope you get your car to start

I checked the batt with a multimeter and the starter is pretty much brand new.

I'll try to have a look at the ignition switch this weekend.

Thanks for the help guys.

I'll follow up with the results.
