H22 EG thoughts
Hey all, I have been researching online and found numerous arguments about this topic, and to re assure you all, I am not here to start another debate about which is a better route to go. But here is the story: I current have a 95 civic hatch which I am planning to build up. However, I have always wanted to go with a b-series drop because I think it is consider more original and proper. Where as a H-series drop is considered more "Frankenstein". With all that being said, the reason why it put me in this dilemma is because I have a prelude sitting here with majority of the things I need to complete the drop, so I kinda save a lot at least from the purchase of the engine, tranny, ecu, shifter housing, maybe even shifter cables etc. But the more I read about cutting the floor for the shifter cables and the shifter box, the more I started to think if it is worth it. I am not a quarter mile guy, I tend to do more circuits and therefore I have always thought having a b-series drop will be more reliable in terms of cornering and durability (correct me if I'm wrong)
So, I figured I'll start this little thread and see if anyone on this forum can put their 2 cents in to help guide me to make a better choice.
Thank you all,

B-series are ideal swaps because they essentially bolt right in and they are lighter. The extra weight of an H22 over a B series is negligible as long as you're suspension is set up correctly for that weight distribution.
If you already have almost everything you need, then go for it. Those motors make lots of jam and will make that little hatch pretty quick.
Make sure the engine itself is in god shape so you're not yanking it out again to fix it in a couple months.
How tech savvy and mechanically inclined are you? If you're not sure about cutting and fabricating, you could have a shop do it for you that has done such work before. but don't just take it to any Joe-blow garage.
Good luck and have fun.
