Engine build. D16a6 and y7

I have a 99 civic with a d16y7 in it pretty much stock. And a crx that is goin to the scrap yard but the crx has a rebuilt d16a6 in it. Both motors are around 100k. I was wondering if anyone could tell me performance wise what parts i should swap into wat motor i.e. a6 head y7 block? y7 cam a6 head?

Both motors are slow, both are non-vtec. I do not see a point in swapping things over. Only thing I could really think of is the intake mani because from what I hear, the y7 manifold is not all that great. But I would do some more research on that.
If you want more power, just swap the motor or atleast get a vtec head. Though either with or without a vtec head, the car would benefit from a shorter geared Si transmission.
I guess we should start this with what is your power goal? Budget?

i agree with scrid3r, i would take probably the D16y7 bottom end because it has better compression and a little more tourque and i would go to the scrap yard and get a D16Y8 v tec head, that will probably cost you $100 at most and $50 to get it plained, it ll up ur compression and youll notice the difference. ive had 2 cars with a D16Y7 in them and they dont compare to the D16Y8 thats in my 98 Si

If you are going to pay for labour, I do not think any combination of the motors would be worth the money spent.

Maybe keep the old d16a6, just incase you need parts for the y7. Most sensors and switches are interchangeable.
