D16Y7 = smoke...

Ok so i started to notice like bad white smoke. In my mind I'm thinking already about the headgasket >.< But i noticed smoke coming from under the hood but from the header. Once i removed the heat shield from the header i see a nice line crack its not huge but still a crack about 3" long between the inner 2 cyl exhaust from. Could this be the the problem of the smoke? My temp is normal, no coolant loss, no leaks on the parking spot. Should i just get someone to weld the crack on the header? Any clues? Well any help will be great!

I have this same crack when I bought the car. You can't weld, header gets too hot. I had it braised so I can do emissions. But this is a temp fix only. It's already opened up again. You will need a new header. Thing is the cat is attached to it so it's really a cat/header therefore expensive. I'm currently searching for a good afforable header and am going to custom high flow cat at the bottom like normal systems. I suggest the same for you. As for smoke? This crack does not cause it. Your problem lies elsewhere.
