Exclamation D15b into 95 Cx

so Ive been asking alot of question lately on this swap since im about to do mine.. now Ive got all the tools needed for the swap a friend to help plus a place to do it so far so good. but there is still a few things I would like to be clear on so here the list...

1. my cx has no power steering so do i just disconnect it from the d15b
2. how will I hook up AC..since the d15b comes with it
3. what type of belts / water pump should I get
4. since I plan to turbo the car next spring what clutch kit should I get? stage
5. if theres any other problem ppl dont mention please let me know Im trying to make this project go as smooth as possible, i know I ask alot of question but I not going to act like I know it all ,and hopefully this will help me not get f"D lol

Thanks alot when im done my swap Ill post pics and maybe a write up

1) Yes, just unbolt it from the new motor.

2) Does your car currently have a/c? If yes, then you could probably use the a/c from either motor.

3) I've done some research on this, and I believe you have to use the VX timing belt and water pump (someone correct me if I am wrong).

4) Depending on your power goals, you should be okay with a stage 1.

1. remove the ps pump and bracket from the engine
2. Just disconnect the ac compressor from the car and let it hang out of the way while you do the swap. Transfer the bracket to the new engine and bolt the compressor back up once it is in the car
3. z6 timing belt and pump as the vx one fits fairly tight
4. As mentioned it depends on your power goal but i would go with a stage 2

Your best bet, if you really want A/C is to go to the wreckers and find a EG with a/c and take all the components out.

Oh, and don't forget you will need the climate control as well.

Don't bother with a/c. If you gonna turbo its just gonna be a pita to squeeze everything in. For clutch, I would go with stage 2 so after a lot of agressive driving, it wouldn't start slipping. For timing belt, use the z6 one since the block and head are identical. Also get OEM and not some cheepie aftermarket belt. Also, I didn't see anything about ecu wiring. You will need to wire up the vtec, unless you got the harness with the ecu, then just ignore this. Also when you do this, get some penetrating oil, so it would be a little easier taking things off. ok Ill ditch the AC if its gonna be a tight fit for turbo and look into a stage 2 clutch kit, as for wire harness i was going to use my stock ecu and get zeeman to convert it to a p28 then i was going to wire up vtec...or im I still missing something.
o and what about a new fly wheel?
Thanks again

Just get the flywheel remachined. People may tell you to get a lightweight flywheel, but I don't see a point. The difference[if any] is very insignificant. For wiring, talk to zeeman [unless you did already] since I'm not sure about chipping the stock ecu. The p28 ecu would be probably the best to use but if yours can be converted and tuned easily then its all the same in the end.

yup. Resurface the flywheel and have a new pilot bearing installed. Should only cost about $50-80 at a machine shop.

so I just got the water pump and timing belt from honda and ordered an alternator belt since they didnt have one in stock and when I was there they said $151.00 for a new fly wheel... sooo im thinking i might just buy one to save me from ripping out the old one.

I also plan on getting a new fuel filter since mine looks mad old, now that i seem to have everyting on track Im wondering about what type of fluids to put in the new engine? also what type of gas... can i still cheap out lol or is it best to buy premium?

Your fine with 87 until you boost it.

when i had z6 i used to put 91 [premium]. even though you burn the gas up quicker, the car seems more alive. but thats just me.
you will be fine with 87

Don't always trust the Haynes manual. You can find the actual Honda manual on here for free. I have both and when I did the swap there is a big difference.

hayness is not as detailed as the service manual. if you have a laptop you could take it to the shop to make your life easier. you can download these free
here is a link for EG http://downloads.hondatech.info/Auto...e%20Manual.zip

Synthetic 5w30 and Honda trans fluid.
Seems like you got it all.
