rebuild motor and tranny....need your opinion
i am drving a EK with a GSR swap....after having this in my car for couple years, there are some problems on the engine/tranny
here is the problems....
--some weird sound from the engine, just very little when idle, and when the motor is being started/turned off
--tranny grinds sometimes at high RPM(never have it checked if it is the problem from the tranny or the clutch)
--it's hard to pull into the 1st/2nd gear
but overall, it's still drive fine
it's almost the time to change the timing belt/water pump, so i want to rebuild the engine/tranny, does it worth the money to do it?
and also, what's needed to do the rebuild in my case?
any opinion is welcomed
thanks

Do you want to build the motor because you want a built turbo motor or a built N/A motor? Or is it to repair the problems with the current motor? First I would find out exactly what the noise it from the motor, and what is causing the grinding in the tranny. Having a motor rebuilt can be pricey, and may not be required to fix you problems. Take it to a mechanic first, and then go from there. Check out my sig. for a good honest mechanic.

sure...i will have it checked before work on it....
i just want to keep it NA, not turbo....
to rebuild the motor/tranny, because i want my engine runs mint with no issues, i think it's a good time to fix it when chaning the timing belt and water pump..
btw, where is your mechanic located?
thanks for your reply

What's the mileage on the motor? Hopefully it's nothing serious, take it to Chris and get them to take a look at it, if it doesn't need a re-build get them to fix the problem and do your t-belt and water pump. They'll get your car running right for you.
