B and D Series Parts

Hey Guys.
Just a quick question. I know d series injectors/rails are the same as b series...correct me if im wrong. My question is...i heard that you can use a d series MAP sensor on a b series engine....is this true??
Thanks.

zeeman 05-Feb-2009 08:24 PM

D and B-series fuel rails are NOT the same.

all B-series injectors are 240cc
most D-series injectors are 240cc
obd0 B and D-series injectors are both peak and hold (low impedence)
obd1 and obd2 B an D-series injectors are saturated (high impedence)

I've used D-series MAP sensors on B-series and H-series engines now, TPS sensors are interchangeable too.

i heard B series TB can be used on D series motor. true?

FPMotorsports 05-Feb-2009 08:30 PM

YES! True.
x2 for what Andrew stated above.

true about the throttle body?

zeeman 05-Feb-2009 08:41 PM

i've seen people even use h22 and s2000 throttle bodies on their b-series engines. They're all pretty much interchageable, its just depends on if your car is equipped with a FITV (fast idle thermo valve) or not.
The s2000 throttle body just doesn't have an idle screw to adjust the idle (if necessary).

Alright thanks a lot zeeman. Sry about the fuel rail part....i knew they were different.
Good info to know. Thanks again.

good to know as I'm building a turbo D and I already have a big bore t/b on my current d16 but I'm thinking on going with a h23 or b20 vtec instead, mostly cause I don't know enough about turbo and I don't really wanna f**k up another engine, (I blew a motor I foolishly had other builders put together) and because I can get those motors with everything I need for about what it'll cost me to build the turbo d the way I'd want it.

civicej1 glad to see your posts lately have been pertinent to the topic.

All honda 4 wire 02 sensors will work on B,D and K engines.
Older obd-0 B16's you can use a A6 dizzy cap.
LS rods only in a A6,Z6,Y7 and Y8.
B16a2 IAC valve will work on a Y8.
Hondas all so share the same fuel injectors, fuel pumps, speed sensor, clutch slave, oil filter. I'm sure theres more buts that's all I can think of right now??

actually different model cars use different volume fuel pumps, so they're not all the same, interchangeable yes, but the same NO.

There are soooo many parts that are interchangeable its not practical to list them all.

CivicOnBlades 06-Feb-2009 06:23 PM

Gotta love honda parts and their interchaneability.

Thanks.....I'm aware there different part numbers. Obviously there are different years to.
I was just throwing some parts that are interchangeable b and d not what part number is the same.
Thanks again though
