Hey there,
Last summer my a/c stopped woking I suspect a freon leak, I was going to top it up come spring time. I have a 1998 Coupe

The question I have is does this car take R-134a?
If so has anyone tried those conversion kits?
Or should I just pick up some 134a when I go over to the states?

you should find out where the leak is first before topping it up

hmm you have a 98 hatch[reading under your dp] if so i believe after 95 or 96 all cars had the new a/c system [keep getting the numbers mixxed up so wont even bring it up] i filled my brothers a/c in his 98 volvo last summer, all you need is a a/c refill kit..got it at crappy tire for 50$ i believe. it just comes with a hose and 2 cans of refrigirant. do not remember procedures anymore but just do a simple search on google for a diy. if you think there is a leak, i know crappy tire sells the dye so u could see where its comming from or cans that will fix the cracks..not sure how reliable would probably be better if you got it checked out by proffesional.

that was the plan in the spring, I don't know to much about a/c tho. I figured I would ask becasue if the car is 134A you can only get it in the us and I am going next week. So i was thinking of picking it up.
