92 civic SiR ii Swap help
hey guys, im new here, i have a 92 civic dx hatchback and i'd like to swap a 1.6 SiR ii in there, and i'd like to know does it bolt on to my stock tranny, and if not what doyou guys recomend as a good swap instead?

it won't bolt to your stock d-series tranny.
A 1.6 SiR II is a b16, which is known as a b-series. The stock engine in your car is a d15b7 which is a d-series. B-series and D-series parts are NOT interchangeable. With this in mind, in order to do a b16 (SiR) swap you will need to swap out:
engine
tranny
axles/half-shaft
engine mounts
shift linkages
ecu (or chip and modify your stock one)
run wires for vtec and possibly knock sensor if you use a stock p30 (b16) ecu

engine swap
just be careful and do some more research, if the b16 engine came off a ride hand drive vehicle then the harness is not compatible with the one with left hand drives. i read this in another forum but I'm not 100% sure if its true but worth looking into it.

cool im just going to start picking those parts up one by one, ill see how much i end up spending hopefully cheaper than just buying a full swap

fail....
you won't pick them up cheaper than buying a full swap.
you can pick up a full swap for 1500$.
a HEALTHY/PROPER b16a2 goes for about $850-$1100 including a proper clutch.
a LSD tranny goes anywhere from $600-$900.
so thats a price range from $1450-2000$ EXCLUDING linkage, axles, mounts.

it doesnt matter how old the car is or how much money you put in it, the only thing matters is if in the end of they day you look at your car and you have a smile on your face, then you know it was worth it.

i agree with u BUT im sure many people including myself do wat they do there cars as a hobbie/project its not always about wat people think because at the end of the day its u whos driving it not "other" people

You can find them for good prices now, and you get a some torque too unlike Honda's 1.5 and 1.6L engines.
