215 may be too wide.
I have 205 40 17 on my 98 coupe.

certainly not 215 45 you'd be nuts to even try it... I had tight clearance (<1mm) with 205/40/17... NO WAY you'd get 215/45s to fit.

would that happen to be the wheel well liner you ripped out???

you know thats protecting the wheel from hitting a nice metal seam that could cut the tire to shreds in the right conditions.

also preventing water from getting behind the fender.

listen bastard you drive a 7th gen, where they stepped up in size... this person drives a 6th gen platform where the limit is 205/40/17 with a 40mm offset. You can do plus one bigger, but that results in rub rub rub rub rub ... he's talking about TWO sizes bigger with unknown offset.

I'm riding 215/45/17's on my 6th gen right now at stock height. They rub occasionally but nothing too bad. I just wanted to try them out and now I'm rolling my fenders next weekend because I pulled up beside another civic with 205/40/17's and they looked weak next to my big tires. 215's will fit unless you are dropping the car. You will need to roll the fenders unless you plan on pussyfooting through corners.

Any guesses on what will happen if I put H&R sports on my car? They will drop 1.75 in the front and 1.5 in the back but I think, and correct me if you think I'm wrong, that with the rolled fenders and a bit of camber taking care of horizontal rubbing, the decreased travel will take care of vertical issues.

Also if anyone has any suggestions on rolling fenders I'd be happy to hear them. My plans so far involve taking the rubber trim off the fender lip and using a round wood stick to push the metal up in a rolling fashion. I'm also curious about the front wheel wells. From what I can tell the rubber liner is attached to a lip on the fender much like the one on the back. I'm thinking of rolling that in the same fashion and if necessary getting a heat gun and stretching it further out of the way. Again... any thought, suggestions?
