What is 12 volts?

Hey guys,

I am trying to hookup some LED windshield washer jets and need to find a 12V wire. I tried hooking them up to my headlights (low beams) and I kept blowing the 10amp fuse. So I did something stupid and put in a 25amp fuse and I smoked the wires for the jets (thankfully the headlight wires were not touched).

Anyone know what wires under the hood of a 1999 Civic SE is 12V and not always live like the battery?

they're not illegal anymore. As long as they don't flash, your okay. Even the cops can't keep up with the changing laws. My nieghbour is metro. I ask him occasionally what the laws are. He's going to get more info on the specifics for me.

Thanks Dee, I didn't think they were illegal with all of them I'm seeing on the roads. If you get more info on them please let me know? I'd ask my friend but he is away on vacation.

When they first came out, they were illegal. Not now, though.

the cigarette lighter is a good switched source of fused 12 volt power. it wont work if your car is off though. the wires are really accessible from tbe back as well.
