water in my tails...

I purchased a set of G3 altezza's a couple weeks back and the outside lights are condensating with water, I think I am going to reseal them... what is the best way to go about this...

should I...

A) take them apart altogether using a heat gun or the oven method, so i can clean them at the same time, and maybe even paint the cheap thin plastic black chrome piece (hmmm...)

or

B) just wait for a dry day when the condenation evaporates (I'm no physics/bio/chem major but i think that would happen eventually) and seal the outer part

I understand the condensating isn't all that rare so I was hoping someone else had/has this problem that has or wants to fix it...

thanks

take em off...

fill em with water...

drain water..

shake vigorously...

leave so holes are facing down..

leave a day or two...

shake again...

Make sure dry..

seal outside with clear external silicone..

Use your finger to make sure you fill cracks..

let sit for a few hours...

make sure that they are seated right and water isn't getting in from the back...

you can tell if this is the case because you bulb sockets will prooly have a bit of rust...

Good luck...

sweet, i don't have to take them apart...

but, will filling them with water ruin the cheap plastic black chrome thingy?, how does water leak from the back in a hatch?, and if it is, am I f**ked?

just curious...

thanks

Put them in the oven at around 500 degrees for about 8 hours.

Put your stock lights back on

seems a little overkill on the heat, i could also replace the altezza's with seran wrap, probably would have a similar affect as throwing 300$ of plastic into the oven for 8 hours

put them in at 150 degrees for 10-15 minutes or until golden brown then you should be able to pull them apart no problem

Come on guys..

To each their own.. Don't make fun of the guy's choice. It's his car after all. It's not fun when someone mocks a certain part of your car that you like, right?

But I know you guys don't mean anything, but still, even the lowliest of us ricers have feelings too..
