Trunk light for a 5Gen Coupe???

Hi.

Does anyone have one?

I haven't got one, and could really use it.
How do I put one in my trunk? Did the Si Coupes have it? If not, what to do then?

Thanks in advance for your good comments.

It should be underneath the rear deck... maybe your bulb is burned, and you don't know where to find the housing

you can use the dome light circuit, or simply hook up a light to the trunk pin switch.... I mean, you have a light on the dash that shows when the trunk is open, right?

Yes I've got that indicator on my cluster...

I have looked for the housing before, but haven't seen it yet!

I guess I look more. And if there wasn't one, I put one in myself.

Any idea where I can find the light housing?

Yeh I dont have one either in my 94 LX sedan.

Look on the trunk for a mercury switch, or on the latch itslef for a switch.

I never had a need for one though

Mercury switch?

I'm not familiar with this...

What to do with this switch?

all a mercury switch does is conduct electricity between 2 probes in the little tube when the mercury is at a certain point.

Say you have a tube with 2 probes sticking though on one side, when you tilt the tube the mercury flows to the other side and conducts electricty between the 2 probes completeing the circuit.

Gatsby, just go to a you-pick-it junk yard, and jack one from any civic you see... I mean the light housing. Otherwise, you can prolly get it at the dealer for like $20-40 bux.

I have a light in my 93 Si coupe. I believe there is a switch on it if you want to keep it shut-off... but I could be wrong.

These lights connect to power up front and ground out on the green latch wires on the hatch latch.

They will only stay on if the hatch is open this way.

The bruno technique works too..
