Question tail light opinion

hey guys... i was wondering do you know what those things are for tail lights... i saw a pic of them someone posted in classifieds... i saw it on a silver car and it looked like a black cap over the tail lights so they look pitch black...

i was wondering what they are called.. where u can get them.. and what do u think about if i put them on my black Civic

For the record, it's GTS, not GTO.

Translucent model paint from Testers should be used or I've seen ppl just tint that isht out.

I have heard of many people being pulled over because of those GTS plastic covers.

Did they get pulled over for being GHAY or was it a highway traffic act infraction? LOL

EZ JDM Pimpmeister... I was talking about the GTS covers on the lights (as seen on many, many j-bodies and fox-bodies, as well as gino-piloted SN-95s)

I think they are GHAY..

Thats what I meant.

Just so everyone knows we are talking about these.

Sam or JSK has the nicest DIY ones I have seen.

Maybe he will post a pic.

^^^ Hahaha... that's a great example of a gino-piloted f-body. Please note the single exhaust (200 hp V6 engine), the lack of roof (and hence structural rigidity), and a pavement-punishing curb weight. In addition, he's added stealthy police-evading rear-end collision causing multi - tens of dollars GTS covers. Fantastic pic, thanks 94EG6HB. As for Sam's tails, I've seen them, they're very nice, but I'd prefer a little less tint. Do you know if he used spray or tint film. I think tint film won't work cuz of the complex 3-D curvature of the light.

not too sure of the 92-95 tails, but on the 96-00 coupe tails you could use the cling on tint

save yourself the headache, and just spray it on
like this

IMO I like the all red look, nice and clean look

I used VHT Translucent Metal Tint Coating, works great.

They also have the paint in smoked black so I think that's what you would be looking for, mask the reverse light and give it some light sprays in a warm environvent

i know this is a stupid question but is it illegal to tint or even have those black covers over ur tail lights...

if tinted.. is it illegal to have lil shade of tint?

iam really confused by this.. because i really wana do it.. i think it will look nice.. but i dont want to be harassed by the cops 24/7 lol

I think I saw those tint ****** paints in First Markham Place, there is a store run by Japanese called Auto City, a thin ****** that can be peel off later if you don't want it.

its too technical
u must have the reverse light visible day and night when you are going in reverse.

what i did, was used TREMCLAD BLACK RUST PAINT on my tails ( pic'd above ) and made the outer red part my turn signal...( the black area was not being used at all )
with my parking lights on, only the inner tail would light up, when i indicated, the outer would flash

as for the reverse light, i debadged the H logo, and fabricated 2 SUPER BRIGHT LEDS to light up as my reverse indicator

( i did this 2 months before i got ahold of my custom carbon fiber alcheezas.......although i nor my friend ever had any second looks for cops in regards to the red/black tails in over 2 years )
