SiR rear bumper vs other Civics
I did a search but i couldnt find anything.. only on front bumpers and rear lips..
is there even a difference?
the reason is i wanna buy one to replace the one i have now (some body kit) and i just wanna know if i can just buy a 99-00 rear bumper for any civic.

96-98 use a different shape then 99-00 Civics. Each bumper will fit cars between 96-00 if thats what you mean. But they are not the same. Just pointing that out for people using this info and want the proper bumper for their car.

let me clear things out. Everything bolts on to the 96- 98 civics. BUT!!! If you want to use a 99-00 civic front bumper, you have to change everything in the front end. That means headlight, fenders, and the hood. The rear bumpers are all the same from 96 to 00 models.

all 99-00 rear and front bumpers are all the same for the coupes only diff is the lip and fog lights on the sir but the bumper is the same im pretty sure the front bumper is the same for coupe sedan and hatch and coupe and sedan rear are the same but not 100% on that. the 96-98 rear bumper will bolt on but the bottom of it has a different shape so its better to just get the 99-00. the front bumpers from 96-98 and 99-00 are differsnt and im pretty sure it is not a simple bolt up you need to either change the lights and fenders hood etc. or do some mods to make itt fit

96-98 rear bumper skin is different from 99-2K rear bumper. The changes are subtle and discreet, with a very slight protusion lip on the bottom of the 99-2K, look at the shape/contour of the lower part of the skin and you will see.
96 -98 front bumper (coupe/ sedan HB) is different from 98-2K front bumper (sedans coupes and HB). Proper fitment and exchange between 96-98 and 99-2K front ends require hood fenders, headlights, grille and rad support changes. It can be made to fit with out the rad support (bastardised drilling and slotting) but the less than perfect fitment can usually be noted by a keen eye.
Of course rear bumper skin 96-98 or 99-2K HB will not fit coupe or sedan as the upper shape as it wraps around the hatch area is different.
So yes you can mount them up, fronts for all, rear HB to HB and coupe/sedan to coupe/sedan but the cosmetic differences can be pointed out by a sharp eye.
Also rear mudflaps need to be per the correct year bumper skin as here you notice the contour differences.
