are you just going to pull it off and fill in the holes, or fill in the indent with metal so its totaly smooth?.

I was thinking of filling the indent so it's completely smooth... but I'm still wondering what would look nicer

I personaly dont like the trim, but liked the indent with the holes filled in..

so I'm going with NAY.

if this is what you want i ll say sure why not. I dont say much of a difference to be honest

Now if what you mean is fill the whole hole and make it all even then I say go for it , it will be a lot more unique ... But I dont know if the end result will be good

that does look good, but my intentions were to fill the whole hole and smooth it out... i was gonna shave all that stuff... then do an all around type r kit... so it looks clean.. simple.. and aggressive at the same time... but still open to ideas and suggestions!

Shave it. Just make sure it gets welded and not fibre glassed or bondoed.

Shave it man, thats what I'm doing with my 93 hatch, but whatever you do...DO NOT WELD IT!!! PERIOD...the metal there is too thin and soft, after all it is aluminum, and when you weld it the metal will start to warp and then ur ****ed. Use fiberglass for the little holes, and Bondo glass for the rest for a nice solid clean look. Trust me.

not entirely true. if you have your welder set at the appropriate heat setting and feed speed, then if you tack it like 2 or three inches apart all the way around, then just keep taking with very very short beeds, the metal will not warp... just needs to be done properly.. then you can use body filler and sand it down then paint it, IF thats what you really want to do..

I like to keep it simple if it had mouldings j can see filling in the holes but to eliminate the whole body line is a bit much, but to each his own. If you like it clean shaven then do it, as long as someone welds the gaps up with sheet metal and your not guna try to fill it in with a gallon of body filler!

It's not aluminum!!!! It's steel..... And if you tack the run a bead gring it down then wipe a small amout of filler for the grinder marks then you've done what everybody shop will do! If you fill it in with bondo it's guna crack peel and fall right out!

Thumbs up

looks really nice shaved i shaved my handles too while i was at it just make sure you get it done right and get it welded then smooth it out after and try to use as little filler as possible i think it made my car look a lot cleaner but everyone has their own opinion

I've done both. And if you know how to weld it works fine. Its not aluminum. Unless you have the IDM (italian made at the Ferrari plant) civic. My advise would be since the panel isn't straight you have to contour the piece your welding in beforehand. It takes extra time but you use less mud to make it look sweet. This job is not for the first timer. The complete shave when done right changes the look of the car enough so your not rice but your not like the other 3 million civics out there.

To be honest i prefer thin jdm style trim, either black or painted to match. I prefer trim and in black becasue if someones door rubs it you don't see a dent or paint chips.

But to each thier own
