a 17" with 205/17's are basically the same size as your overall diamter 14" stock with rubber so the speedo will be good
and personaly 17" 's are the biggest you should put on a civic...
are you dropped already?

Personally, I think 16's should be the biggest size to go up to in a civic that it older than an EP. Unless of course you're using them for show then the sky's the limit but, regular driving...16 for sure.

if you notice, a lot of people in the classifieds are always trying to sell their 17s.... much more often than people selling new 16s... that should lead you to the answer you are looking for.

it depends on what your going for... performance go with 15 or 6 looks go with 17"
i got 17"s and i think they're fine...
it all depends on what "YOU" want...
everyones selling their 17"s cause smaller rims are the thing now, and it wwill change as well...
ahh u got a 4th gen? ma bad, smaller rim then...
6th gens look better with the bigger rims...

^^ been there, done that. car sits hella low
spracingsports, 205 = width in mm, 45 = % of width as a sidewall.
that's why 215/45/16 and 205/45/16 are NOT the same height. the difference would be 10 mm x 45%

Would it not be easier for manufacturers to state the sidewall in mm rather than a percentage of the width? Or is it an age old sizing system that would be just too tedious to change? Or is the percentage used in some handling calculations and what not??
I just doesn't seem to make much sense to me. Like why say "I want a tire with a sidewall 55% of the width"???

How many people do u guys know that have 17's. I know a lot of people who have 17's. I think 17's or 18's are the most common size when people upgrade their rims. If there are more people with 17's, there would be more people selling their 17's.
I don't know anyone who has 16's, well at least not aftermaket 16's.
You either buy rims for the bling factor (17's, 18's), which is bigger rims, or buy them because they are light (15's, 14's).
