replacing windsheild?
#4
I need a new windshield as well, I've been calling around quotes are ranging from 220 to 700 (yeah, 700, from dealer)
I talked to a guy that offered me 412 w/ new molding and I asked him why/how some people can offer me a job for 220.
he basically said that those guys use the old molding around the glass which isn't the best idea and they use cheap glass and all that junk.
so I don't know.. anyone know anything about this stuff? the windshield is not something I wanna cheap out on.. but if I can save 400-500 and get the same service then I wouldn't mind.

so if there charging 300 roughly does that include the windsheild or will i have to get that seperate. i dont think ill spend 700 on the windsheild because the cars only worth 1500 lol

for 300 you should get a new windshield, new molding, and a well primed installed.
honestly... from calling like 15 different places and asking probing questions, you get what you pay for.
I'm gonna go with this one company (forgot the name I can give it to you if you want) voted at 340$, it was the cheapest legit place that sells oem certified glass (and works for some dealerships).

91 civic windshield replacement shouldnt cost more than 200bucks, using the old moulding is fine, granted its in good shape...no need to replace something thats still good.
call igor at krown lakeshore and he'll take good care of you as he does all of us and give u the best deal
the glass he uses is just as good as any other, and u can usually get it tinted or just regular
